We are an environmentally-friendly builder's merchant; specialising in materials for building conservation and restoration. We stock natural paints, lime mortars and plaster, sunpipes,wool and recycled cellulose insulations. We also supply replacement wooden doors and windows.

Our Services
We offer high insulation blocks and reclaimed bricks, traditional ironmongery for renovation, limes and mortars for both repairing older properties and building new ones and eco-friendly sheet materials and a range of tools ad books.
We promote a Fabric First approach to low environmental impact building solutions and consider the source of the raw materials through manufacturing to site and in use. Recycled content is good but not if it encourages the original production of plastics foe example. Crushing bricks to make aggregate is also a poor use of a high embodied energy resource and salvaging the bricks to be reused is far more sustainable.
Renewables and Energy
We offer a comprehensive range of products and a nationwide accredited installation service on all of the energy products. Our PV and solar thermal equipment is MCS approved as are our installers, so you can take advantage of the new and impending incentives.
Passive House Solutions - some of our equipment is passive house certified such as the ventilation systems from Steibel Eltron and all of the PV, PVT and solar thermal equipment is suitable for passive house projects. Please remember – fix the fabric first, ensure you have upgraded your insulation and improved your doors and windows before installing energy equipment. It will mean you get greater energy savings and can possibly buy smaller and therefore cheaper technologies.
